For evaluators (Graduate Studies)

The work queue

Work queue is your home. Its tabs are Drafts (preliminary drafts waiting for format review), Draft holds, Final (final drafts approved by the committee and waiting for you), Final holds, Upcoming (final-phase theses still with the committee, showing how many members have signed), and History (theses you have signed). The queue shows the students in your load range by default; tick all students to see everyone, and filter by term.

Reviewing a draft

Open the Checklist for a draft. Press Start review to claim it (downloading never changes anything). For each section of the checklist, write the required change or pick a saved comment of yours; Save keeps your work without a decision. Then Approve, Reject (the student sees the checklist and uploads a corrected draft), or Hold to ask the student to make an appointment. Earlier attempts stay visible on the same page.

Final approval

From the thesis page, review the metadata and files, then Approve (the thesis is complete), Reject with a reason for formatting changes, or Hold.

Deadlines and exceptions

Terms & deadlines holds each term's three phase deadlines. To extend one phase for one student, open their thesis (find them under People or Deadline exceptions) and use Grant exception under Deadlines; the student is emailed. Deadline exceptions lists every exception by term and lets you deactivate or reactivate one.

Email templates

Email templates lists every message ETD sends, by phase. Edit the subject and body, preview with sample data, and reset to the shipped text. Only the placeholders shown on the page are accepted.

Evaluators and load ranges

Roles shows who holds the evaluator and read-only evaluator roles and lets you set each evaluator's load range by the student's last-name initial. A read-only evaluator sees every screen without the buttons.
