For committee members

Your inbox

Your theses lists, under Action required, everything waiting on you: seats to accept or decline, planning forms to review, and final drafts to approve. Each item names the student and what is asked. Theses you serve on without anything pending are listed below.

Accepting a seat

A student proposes you; once the graduate coordinator approves the committee, you receive an email and the seat appears in your inbox. Accept or Decline (with an optional reason). A chair must confirm the chair agreement before accepting.

Reviewing the planning form

When a student changes an already-approved plan, members review it again: Approve, Reject with a reason (the student is told exactly what to change), or Hold to ask the student to meet with you first. Release your own hold after the meeting.

Approving the final draft

Download the final PDF and any supplemental files from the thesis page, then Approve or Reject with a reason. When every member has approved, the draft goes to Graduate Studies for format approval.

Comments

You can comment on a thesis at any time from its page; the student is emailed and sees the comment under the phase it belongs to.

Off-campus members

If you were invited from outside CSUN, sign in with your email address and the password you set from the invitation; everything else works the same. You cannot start a thesis of your own.
